Subramonianpillai Teal
Mr. Subramonianpillai Teal is a native Baltimorean who grew up in East Baltimore City. Mr. Teal graduated from Southern High School. Upon completing High School Mr. Teal endeavored to be the first college graduate in the history of his family. In pursuit of that dream, Mr. Teal left Baltimore City to attend the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES). Mr. Teal’s experience on the Eastern Shore helped him to discover that his life purpose is to heal families and communities. Mr. Teal graduated from UMES with a Bachelors degree in Sociology and eventually went on to receive his Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland, School of Social Work.
Upon completing graduate school, Mr. Teal began consulting as a therapist and trainer for education, residential and non-residential treatment programs. As a consultant, Mr. Teal facilitated individual, group, and family therapy as well as staff development and training for Baltimore City Public Schools, Head Start Programs, Community Mental Health Centers, and various residential and non-residential treatment programs.
In 2000 Mr. Teal began serving as the Chief Administrative Officer of the WIN Family Services Treatment Foster Care Program. As Chief Administrative Officer, Mr. Teal ensured that all tiers of the agency’s hierarchy effectively interfaced to ensure optimum service delivery, administrative productivity, and effective clinical outcomes for children and families in foster care.
Mr. Teal is currently the Co-founder and Clinical Director of Leading By Example, a Mental Health and Family Strengthening Institution that provides a plethora of mental health and family strengthening support services.
Mr. Teal’s crowning achievement is his 21-year marriage to his wife Mrs. Leslie Teal and his two children. Mr. Teal’s experience within his own family has made the greatest contribution to shaping his character and commitment to service in the community.
