
E. Ursula Young, LGPC describes herself as a mental and emotional wellness professional. Her formal educational journey started as a pre-med Biology major that transitioned to Behavioral Health at the University of Maryland. She completed her Master of Education degree at Coppin State University with a focus on Rehabilitation Counseling. That foundation fueled her eclectic professional journey that includes counseling autistic youth, treating substance use disorder of incarcerated clients, and as court liaison for CASA for Children of DC’s Family Treatment court. More recently Ursula managed Psychiatric Rehabilitation programming at several organizations, supporting clients from 5 to 90 years of age in individual, group and school-based settings. Her treatment modalities have included Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Client Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focused Brief Therapy as an approach to building emotional wellness and resiliency. Ursula believes in mind, body, spirit health and believes that people inherently have all they need to heal and live as their best selves. She sees her professional practice as a mission in helping others see their own limitless potential and joy in living.
